Testing of Asphalt Concrete
Laboratory assessment of asphalt concrete mixes and cores — for roads, car parks, yards and industrial pavements.

About the service
Asphalt concrete is a key material in road construction, on which the durability of the pavement, its load resistance and freedom from rutting and cracking depend.
Deviations in mix composition, grading, void content or laying temperature lead to premature pavement failure and significant repair costs.
We carry out comprehensive testing of asphalt concrete mixes and cores, assessing their compliance with GOST requirements, the pavement type and the design documentation. The laboratory determines material quality both before laying and after the pavement has been completed, allowing control of the supplier and the quality of work performed.
The results are issued as official test reports accepted by technical supervision, contractors and regulatory authorities.
Methods and standards
The list is adjusted to the design and accreditation scope. If a method is missing, ask our engineer.
| Method | Standard | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Core sampling, layer thickness | GOST 12801-98 | On site |
| Bulk density and water absorption | GOST 12801-98 | Laboratory |
| Pavement compaction factor | GOST 12801-98 | Laboratory |
| Asphalt mix properties | GOST 9128-2013 | Laboratory |
| Pavement evenness | GOST 30412-96 | On site |
| Elastic deflection of pavement | GOST 32729-2014 | On site |
Why it matters
Testing makes it possible to:
- 01assess the quality of the mix before laying
- 02verify compliance with production and transport procedures
- 03confirm that density, strength, void content and structure meet the standards
- 04detect defects in pavement construction
- 05monitor the contractor and the mix supplier
- 06provide documented confirmation of the quality of work performed
This is a mandatory element of control in the construction of roads, car parks, access routes and industrial yards.
Testing stages
- 01
Receiving the request and clarifying requirements
We determine the mix type, pavement category and the list of investigations required.
- 02
Sampling or receiving cores
We sample the mix at the plant/site or accept cores cut from the finished pavement.
- 03
Preparing specimens
We bring the material to standard condition, clean, label and prepare it for testing.
- 04
Laboratory investigation
We perform a set of tests, assessing the physical and mechanical characteristics of the asphalt concrete.
- 05
Analysing the results and comparison with standards
We determine compliance with design requirements and classify the material according to the standards.
- 06
Issuing reports and recommendations
The client receives an official test report and the specialist's conclusion.
