Testing of Building Mortars
Quality control of cement, cement-sand, masonry, plastering and special mortars — with official test reports and verification of GOST compliance.

About the service
Building mortars are the basis of masonry, installation, plastering and finishing works. Their quality has a direct effect on bond strength, structural stability, the durability of the finish and the absence of defects in service.
Even minor deviations in workability, strength or water-retention capacity can lead to cracking of the plaster, weakening of the masonry, reduced adhesion and surface failure.
Our laboratory carries out comprehensive testing of all types of building mortars. We check both the properties of fresh mortars and the physical and mechanical characteristics of hardened specimens. The results are issued as an official test report accepted by the technical client and supervisory authorities.
We determine
- 01Workability, density, segregation resistance and water-retention capacity of the mortar mix
- 02Compressive strength, moisture content, water absorption and frost resistance of the mortar
- 03Strength of mortar sampled from joints
Which mortars we test
- 01Cement mortars
- 02Cement-sand mortars (CSM)
- 03Masonry mortars for brickwork
- 04Installation mortars
- 05Plastering mortars
- 06Thin-layer mixes
- 07Thermal-insulating and refractory mortars
- 08Special formulations to technical specifications (TU)
Why it matters
Testing makes it possible to:
- 01Confirm that the mortar meets GOST requirements
- 02Rule out the use of a substandard mix
- 03Verify the supplier and the quality of the batch
- 04Prevent plaster failure, delamination of masonry and reduced adhesion
- 05Ensure the reliability of structural and finishing works
- 06Obtain official documentation for construction control
Mortar testing is particularly important in the construction of residential buildings and industrial facilities, and in reconstruction and façade restoration works.
Testing stages
- 01
Receiving the request and brief
We clarify the mortar type, area of application and the design/GOST requirements.
- 02
Sampling or receiving the mortar at the laboratory
We sample on site or accept the mortar with a sampling report drawn up.
- 03
Testing the fresh mix
We determine workability, water retention, segregation resistance and other critical parameters.
- 04
Casting and curing specimens
We cast specimens in accordance with GOST and cure them to the control age.
- 05
Testing the hardened mortar
We determine strength, density, water absorption and frost resistance.
- 06
Analysing the results and checking against standards
We compare the actual values with the standards and the project's requirements.
- 07
Issuing reports and recommendations
We issue official reports with conclusions, possible corrective measures and the engineer's comments.
Our advantages
- Accredited testing to GOST
- Official test reports accepted by technical supervision
- Precise measurements on modern equipment
- Testing of fresh and hardened mortars
- Fast turnaround
- Engineer site visits available
Who it is for
- Construction organisations and contractors
- Dry-mix producers
- Design and technical-supervision organisations
- Developers
Testing building mortars is a quality-control measure that determines the strength of masonry, the durability of finishes and the resilience of the structure.
We provide reliable laboratory verification and deliver accurate data that enable safe, high-quality construction.
