Testing of Bolted Connections (Including High-Strength Bolts)
Control of the strength, reliability and installation quality of bolted connections for steel structures and engineering assemblies.

About the service
Bolted connections are one of the principal methods for installing steel structures, process equipment, building frames and engineering assemblies. Particularly stringent requirements apply to high-strength bolted connections, which operate under significant loads and ensure the stability and safety of structures.
Incorrect tightening torque, substandard fasteners or installation errors can weaken connections and cause structural displacement, vibration, cracking and emergency situations. Laboratory and field control of such connections is therefore a mandatory part of construction control.
We test bolted connections of various types, determine their actual load-bearing capacity, and check installation quality against the standards and process cards. The results are issued as official test reports accepted by technical supervision and regulatory authorities.
Why it matters
Testing makes it possible to:
- 01determine the actual strength and load-bearing capacity of the connection
- 02check the tightening torque and installation quality of high-strength bolts
- 03confirm that the fasteners used meet GOST requirements
- 04identify assembly defects and breaches of process procedures
- 05prevent the weakening of structural connections and emergency situations
- 06provide documented confirmation of installation quality
- 07ensure the safe operation of the facility
Such checks are mandatory for industrial facilities, bridges, framed buildings and steel structures of any complexity.
Testing stages
- 01
Receiving the design requirements
We clarify the connection type, bolt class and the standards on which the testing is based.
- 02
Site visit or receiving specimens
We carry out a visual inspection of the connections and record the installation and assembly conditions.
- 03
Preparing the equipment and test location
We set up strain-gauge instruments, torque wrenches or hydraulic loading devices.
- 04
Carrying out field or laboratory tests
We determine the actual parameters of the connection under load or the tightening torque.
- 05
Analysing the data and assessing compliance
We compare the results with GOST, SP and design documentation requirements.
- 06
Issuing the official report
The client receives a document with conclusions, recommendations and confirmation of connection quality.
