02 — AboutPervaya Laboratory

About the service

Sand is one of the basic construction materials, and its quality determines the strength of concrete and mortars, the stability of bases, the correct performance of foundation bedding layers and the durability of road structures.

Even minor deviations in grain size, dust and clay content or moisture can reduce concrete strength, cause mortar segregation, base subsidence and distortion of pavement geometry.

Our laboratory carries out comprehensive testing of sand to assess its suitability for a specific type of construction works. We analyse the physical and mechanical characteristics, determine compliance with GOST and design documentation requirements, and issue official reports accepted by technical supervision and regulatory authorities.

03 — Why it mattersPervaya Laboratory

Why it matters

Testing helps to:

  • 01confirm material quality before use
  • 02avoid a loss of strength in concrete and mortar
  • 03prevent subsidence, deformation and failure of bases
  • 04rule out the use of sand with an elevated impurity content
  • 05monitor suppliers and the quality of every batch
  • 06obtain official documentation for construction control

Sand testing is mandatory in concrete production, masonry and plastering works, the construction of road bases and the preparation of projects of any complexity.

Testing stages

  1. 01

Receiving the request and design requirements

We determine the sand type, area of application and the list of tests required.

  2. 02

    Sampling or receiving the material

We sample on site or accept the material submitted, and draw up a sampling report.

  3. 03

    Preparing the sand for investigation

We dry, sieve, divide and prepare the sample for laboratory procedures.

  4. 04

    Laboratory testing

We determine the key characteristics of the sand that affect its use in construction.

  5. 05

Analysing the results and checking against standards

We compare the data with design requirements and classify the sand according to GOST.

  6. 06

    Issuing the official report

The client receives a document with conclusions, test results and recommendations for use.
